Citizen Science in South America

Citizen science is a growing movement that aims to involve the public in scientific research and discovery. It provides a way for people in the community to gather information about their environment, share their experiences, and contribute to scientific knowledge. In many parts of South America, citizen science is being used to address the challenges of flooding, which is a significant problem for many communities in the region. There are numerous projects, activities, institutions, and organizations that are engaging people in citizen science, including workshops and training programs that teach people how to become citizen scientists. These initiatives are helping communities to develop strategies for flood risk management and mitigation, while also promoting a greater understanding of the natural world and the scientific process. By working together, citizens and scientists can make significant progress toward building more resilient and sustainable communities. Below are lists of several citizen science projects, activities, organizations, and institutions. (Incomplete listing)
