Citizen Science in Africa

In Africa, there are several projects, activities, institutions, and organizations that involve the community in collecting data on wildlife, water quality, and protecting biodiversity. These initiatives are crucial for promoting the sustainability development of the environment and water resources. One of the most well-known organizations is the African Wildlife Foundation, which collaborates with local communities to monitor and track wildlife populations. Additionally, the African Conservation Trust works with local communities to collect data on water quality and improve conservation efforts. Another notable institution is the Earthwatch Institute, which facilitates citizen science programs that allow individuals to contribute to research on biodiversity conservation. The Jane Goodall Institute is also actively involved in community-based conservation initiatives, with a focus on protecting primates and their habitats. These initiatives provide a valuable opportunity for communities to take an active role in the preservation of their natural resources, promoting sustainable development for future generations. Below are the lists of several projects, activities, institutions, and organizations supporting citizen science. (Incomplete listing)
